"We met at General Foods where we both worked in Cobourg, Ontario. The girls knew we liked each other but we were both very shy. One evening, while in line to punch out from work, they egged Gene on to ask me out. Our first date was September 24, 1966 and we went to Youth Group."

"Gene ended up joining the military July 17th, 1967 after trying out several jobs in Toronto and Peterborough."

"On April 13, 1968, we got married after he finished basic training. We went to Niagara Falls for our honeymoon, then moved to Belleville, Ontario."
